Is this power button compatible with 13th gen?

Hi everyone!

My question is simple, I don’t find anything on these site about the compatibility of that power button. Does it work with 13 gen motherboards? I have one and I have been waiting for one of these.

I am sorry if I missed some documentation, point me out those!

Appreciate the help!

Hey Jacob, sorry to bother.
I have look into this fingerprint reader, so as far as i understand the connection is just with that small cable into the motherboard.
Would it make it bad to bend the cable right?
Im asking this because im doing a small tablet with this and 3D printed stuff. MY idea would be that the motherboard is horizontally, however i want the button in the front part like a mini pc, if that makes sense.
So, im not sure if this works for my case?

Ahh, I see.

Unfortunately no, the fingerprint reader does not connect to the mainboard! It actually connects to the input cover, which then connects to the mainboard via a single large ribbon cable (connector). You can attach a power button directly to the mainboard using this Input Connector Shim, which has a schematic on github.

The motherboard does have a small power button directly on the PCB. You can solder wires to that power button, or simply create a mechanism that pushes against this button (this is what the official 3d printed case does, although it’s not the angle you’re going for)!
