I have an open issue with them.
- i shot detailed photos of all the parts.
- I showed them that binding/alignment of the trackpad in input cover wasn’t part of the issue. by showing that the issue persists even with no topcase.
- i explained i had reseated the ribbon cables multiple times, and shown the the problem persists across old and new ribbon cable.
- they asked that i upgrade bios from 3.10 to 3.22 which I had to delay as I understand it’s not safe to do without a battery. and my battery is dead.
- they said they’d escalate.
- i’ve just received a reply asking what happened to the original trackpad.
so i’ll respond to that next.
