Ok, I think I found a fix.
I was looking at this guide (Touchpad Rubbing Fix Guide - Framework Guides) and modified it a little bit:
Clean the contact under the top left or right metal pad (silver) that sticks out, that sits on the side plate (copper colored). Some sticky / clicking sounds come from residue that becomes sticky under those pads that stick out. I used floss with a bit of rubbing alcohol to clean the gap between them and it fixed my problem. in my case, the screws adjustment from the guide above didn’t fix the problem as it wasn’t “rubbing” on the sides, but the guide shows you how to open it up.
