Hi Framework Crew,
I’ve just noticed that yesterday Ubuntu 22.04 upgraded to kernel 6.8, and now the OEM D kernel just points at the 6.8 HWE hardware enablement kernel. My questions are:
- Is this still the correct kernel to be using? Maybe with the 6.8 kernels we don’t need a specific OEM kernel?
- Can the script on this page be fixed, as it now warns that the kernel isn’t correct if you boot the 6.8 kernel.
This is what I’m looking at to see the HWE kernel being pulled in by the OEM D package - maybe it’s the wrong command? Note the “Depends” line:
> apt info linux-oem-22.04d
Package: linux-oem-22.04d
Version: 6.8.0-40.40~22.04.3
...
Depends: linux-generic-hwe-22.04
...
Description: Complete OEM Linux kernel and headers (transitional package)
Thanks, Jay
