Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS not waking from suspend and stuck on black screen

Isn’t there just one?

I just tried doing a clean install of the latest LTS ubuntu and suspending the suspending the computer and waking it up it just sticks on a black screen and I can’t get it to respond anymore.
The same thing works fine in Windows though.
I tried installing 6.14.1 kernel with no change.
I found an article about disableing USB wakup and that didn’t seem to make a different.
Only other thing I found was for NVidia GPUs and I don’t have one attached to this machine.

Interestingly i tried fedora desktop version and that worked well. I noticed that it doesn’t support using fingerprint on first boot.
That led me to try fedora workstation as with it’s ui, fingerprint should work on first boot.
Now the fingerprint worked but i am back to having the issue where after putting the laptop to sleep i get the black screen again.
Any ideas?
