Upgrade Question

I have a framework 13 11th gen intel laptop from 2022. I am considering changing the mainboard to the amd-ai-ryzen-300, with new memory, but same disk. I’m assuming everything is compatible? Anyone know of any issues I should be worried about?

In particular, for my current laptop, I’ve been somewhat worried about thermal issues – I find the machine runs hot and loud. Is there any reason to believe a new amd mainboard will be better in this regard?

Thanks!

I upgraded from the 11th gen intel to the 7040 AMD.

Everything on my machine was compatible, except the ram. Nothing I’ve read indicates that the AMD AI Ryzen 300 is any different.

Note the wifi card: AX210 and AX200 should work, but AX201 and AX211 won’t (they only work with intel processors).

Thermal/sound wise, my AMD 7040 is silent most of the time, and I expect the AMD AI Ryzen 300 is likely silent as well. My 11th gen ran VERY hot and noisy.
