Upgraded to mint 22, microphone stopped working

Everything on my FW16 was working great under Linux Mint 21.3, but I recently upgraded to LM22 and suddenly found, while attempting to join a zoom call, that my microphone had stopped working. Anyone else with this issue? Anyone know why?

TIA,
Ron

Because Linux.

Most likely the kernel changed. Pulseaudio component changed. Included hardware vendors in the kernel changed. The honest truth is that it could be a host of things. Have you tried to go into the audio settings to see if the microphone is detected?

Yes, audio settings was the first thing I tried. It shows the microphone as the input device, the sound is turned up (input and output). The microphone is just not registering anything. :frowning:

Thanks for your help.

Are you able to affect the gain of the microphone? It could be that this was reset to really low or even off.
