Upgrading Memory in Laptop 16

Hi, I purchased a Laptop 16 in September, and it turns out I need a little more memory to play some of my games. Silly of me not to check first, but oh well. Now I have two questions.

  1. Should I upgrade one or both of my DDR5-5600 8GB memory sticks to DDR5-5600 16GB ones?
  2. Is my computer capable of handling more memory?

Here’s my system info:

OS: Linux Mint 22.2 Cinnamon
Cinnamon Version: 6.4.8
Linux Kernel: 6.14.0–33 generic
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS w/ Radeon 780M Graphics x8
Memory: 14.9GB
Hard Drives: 1007.2GB
Graphics Card: AMD/ATI Phoenix 1
Display Server: X11

Here’s the full build:

(If this wasn’t the right forum to post in, sorry! I’ll gladly take this to the right spot.)

  1. It will work best if both modules are the same size.
  2. The machine will take a pair of 64GB modules for a total of 128GB. I have a pair of 48GB modules in mine for 96GB - largely because the 64GB ones were not available when I bought mine.
