I have a USB-C earphone that I use with my phone. I decided to replace the expansion card on Slot 3 from 3.5mm Audio Adapter to USB-C. However although my Arch Linux system recognized the earphone, it did not output any sound. After some testing, I realized that the expansion cards and the earphone were working, but the USB-C card with USB-C earphone on Slot 3 were not working. It was awkward since 3.5mm card and 3.5mm earphone works fine on the slot. Am I missing drivers or is something wrong with firmware? How can I diagnose?

Reach out to support. I had a similar issue and they directed me to reset my motherboard. My port now works.

@morjuosu What does “reset motherboard” mean? you mean reset BIOS? or is there something else?

" May we ask you to try to do a Mainboard reset and see if there will be any improvements?" their wording, ask them.
