USB-C Ports Issue - Flashing Orange Light & Not Charging

  • Windows 11 Framework 13 AMD Ryzen™ 7 7840U *

Hi guys, I just realized that my USB-C ports does not work normally. When I plugged the charging cable in, the orange light near it started to flash. The little battery icon on my screen also showed that the charging appeared along with the flash light.

For convenience of the discussion, I put my USB-C port in 1 and 3:

Are you using the battery-limiting setting in the BIOS? Apparently the light flashes orange if the battery is charged up to the BIOS battery limit, to let you know that it has reached its maximum charge.

What charger are you using?

Have you updated to the 3.03b BIOS? Framework 13 AMD Ryzen 7040 BIOS 3.03b BETA

I checked my BIOS using the F2 key and saw my battery charging limit was 100%. I think that means that I do not have a charging limit, right?

Right. In that case, I don’t think that link I posted is the cause.

I did check my BIOS using the F2 key and saw my battery charging limit was 100%. I think that means that I do not have a charging limit, right? Also, I just got my laptop one day ago and downloaded that newest BIOS. So I am wondering if this is a hardware issue or stability issue of the system.

During operation suddenly stopped charging - I noticed when the battery went below threshold and energy savings notice kept popping up. It tries to charge, stopps gooes to battery mode and triggers energy saving mode, and the cycle starts again …

What I recognised that charging devices from device has stopped working a while ago as well not sure whether its related.
