USB Ports Functionality AI 300 Series Mainboards

I know from Expansion Card Slot functionality on Framework Laptop 16 (AMD Ryzen™ 7040 Series)

that the ports 3 and 6 are slower and have limited power supply of only 5V and 0.9A.

What about the new mainboard. are ports 3 and 6 more stable and usable now?

I’ve watched most reviews of the second gen FW16.
I couldn’t see anything about the USB ports. Doe anybody know more about it?

Here you go!

That page doesn’t say anything about ports 3 and 6 and if they are as bad as Gen1 FW16.

Unclear what you mean by “as bad as Gen1 16.” Ports 3 and 6 on my machine work as advertised and as described in the Ryzen 7040 “ports” page here: Expansion Card Slot functionality on Framework Laptop 16 (AMD Ryzen™ 7040 Series)

The first page I linked shows the limitations of ports 3 and 6 in the same manner as the Ryzen 7040 page. Those ports support USB 3.2 and USB-A but don’t support charging or display port.

If you read the section above the graphic, you will see this text:

“Ports 1,2,4,5 are shared on a first come first serve basis. So they are 1.5A by default, but one port from any of these can negotiate 3A over PD. Once that is taken, the other ports are limited to 1.5A. Ports 3,6 are 900mA.”
