Wakes up from standby on power connect/disconnect

When the laptop is in standby, either by “falling asleep” by itself or by closing the lid, it wakes up when power is connected or disconnected.

Is there a way (e.g. BIOS setting) to avoid this?

Which Linux distro are you using? Debian
Which release version? forky/sid
Which kernel are you using? 7.1.3+deb14-amd64
Which BIOS version are you using? 04.02
Which Framework Laptop 13 model are you using? AMD Ryzen™ AI 300 Series

This is how framework designed their firmware (at least for the amd hardware). My 16 has always done the same thing. It’s very annoying and partly the reason people are cooking their laptops inside their bags. But I think we are stuck with it this way until framework decides it is worth fixing.

“Cooking their laptops inside their bags” - that is, spurious wake-ups? Caused pressure applied on the lid pressing keys and the like?

I’d prefer the laptop to wake up only on opening the lid or pressing the power button.

I like to wipe off my laptop from time to time which is really a bad idea unless it is completely switched off.

No. That issue was resolved already by a firmware/bios combination update. I’m talking about when you connect or disconnect the power adapter, the computer wakes up. That normally should not happen but it does on the Framework because of firmware bugs.
