Want to buy a new fan. Is the fan in the Chromebook heatsink/fan kit the same as the 12/13th gen Intel kit?

My Framework 13 (13th gen Intel)'s fan is giving out. I’ve had the same issue before which I got replaced under warranty but now its been more than a year so I need to get my own replacement. I’ve disassembled the entire assembly and cleaned out all dust with compressed air and the issue remains. I think the issue is simply a worn out bearing - the fan makes the same ratchety noise that my 3D printer fans do after they’re worn out from long use.

I still really wish we could just buy the fan and not the whole kit, but since the Chromebook heatsink/fan kit is $10 less than the Intel one, I was wondering if I could just buy the Chromebook kit and then swap the fans. I put phase change thermal pads on my heatsink so regardless I’m going to swap just the fan so that I don’t have to scrape off the thermal pads to move it to the new assembly.

Anyways, TLDR: Is the fan in the Chromebook heatsink assembly the same as the 13th gen intel one?

I’d suggest asking support Framework | Contact Us
and unless they say it’s compatible, I wouldn’t do it. Sure it’s a heatsink & fan with 3 pins, why could it be different? But not worth the hassle, imo. I know some other Chrombook parts are not compatible, like the touchpad.
