What expansion cards do you use the most?

Obviously, the whole point of the expansion cards is that you can switch them out. But, on my Framework 13, I find that I’ve kept 2 USB-C and 2 USB-A cards slotted in there most of the time. I was curious if other people had settled into something similar, if you’re constantly switching out cards, or somewhere inbetween! Especially curious for 16 and Desktop users, given the extra/fewer slots respectively.

I only bought the refurbished pack of 4 expansion cards which came with 1 HDMI, 1 USB-C and 2 USB-A cards. Depending on what I’m doing, I run out of USB-A ports since I have to code microcontrollers from time to time, so I have connect my mechanical keyboard to bluetooth if I’m sitting on my desk. otherwise, I’m very happy with that config.

I use USB C for the power, HDMI for the second screen, USB A for the mouse, and mostly USB A or USB C for the last port.

In rare cases, I use a USB C hub.

I’m new to Framework and found the idea of these modules awesome!

So I got 2x usb-c, 1 usb-a, 1-sd card, 1-ethernet. The last one is not installed, kind of on standby if needed. As I’m just getting started switching from Mac to Linux, I haven’t done much with peripherals yet but am aiming to use the Framework 13 for most of my day to day computing, on a home network with Macs.

Most peripherals I have are now usb-c but some are -a, and for digital photos I thought the SD slot would be cool.
