There are plenty of display ports with the Desktop so I’m after a USB-C (primary/only) hub/dock. I was wondering what you fine folk of the form use that delivers for you (and which you’d recommend), and perhaps those that did not?

Depends on what you need from the hub.
I’m probably just gonna have C to A hub with 4 ports. (basics like mouse, keyboard, mic and camera and stuff)
I’ve had a caldigit ts3 for a few years, and have recommended it a few times. It’s a thunderbolt 3, usb C - and have used it with Mac, Windows, and Linux without any issue. Has ethernet, video, usb C and usb A - and I routinely have keyboard, video, Ethernet, external drives attached without a single problem. I did have to replace the main USB C cable earlier this year, but it was pretty old.
Vendor Name: CalDigit, Inc.
Device Name: TS3 Plus
The only hub I’ve been able to find so far that meets my requirements is the OWC Thunderbolt 5 Hub. It has a rear upstream port which is a rare arrangement. That leaves two TB4 downstream pors at the rear and one at the front with a USB 3.2 next to it.
Most TB4 hubs assume a laptop use case so have their upstream port at the front. With the FW Desktop having an upstream port at the front of the dock is not an ideal cable management option. The CalDigit Elements has an upstream at the side which is not unworkable but about the same price as the OWC
