I often notice that the i5-1334U in my 12 is pulling about 15W when doing demanding workloads, which is the advertised TDP. However I also see that the average chip temperature is somewhere in the low 60s to high 70s. If the chip can maintain such a low temperature while operating at 15W, shouldn’t it be feasible to increase it to, say, 20W and still have it safely stay below 80C, throttling as needed?
hm.. I think something might be wrong with the thermals in my machine.

I think I was looking at the wront temperature.
My CPU core temps are actually okay. But the PECI temp is always about 10C degress higher. I thought PECI temp is CPU temp.
My PECI temp was around 70C with light load.
Not sure if that’s normal still.
