If I restart the laptop the wifi will connect to the network really quickly, If the laptop has been in sleep for any long period of time (probably then hibernates)?
I haven’t specifically found any pattern yet. However the wifi will just not work for quite a while after (maybe 2-3 mins). It will not autoconnect, so i’m sat with a semi useless laptop. I try manually connect, it will see the networks but not connect to anything. Eventually it will connect and then all is perfectly fine.
Any ideas? I’ve tried updating the intel wifi driver but it’s still got the same behaviour.
My home network is a pfsense router and unifi wireless AC. I’ve not had this issue on any other laptop or device, so i’m pretty sure it’s not my network.
In the FW bios is the wifi card set to default? It should be on default.
What firmware version is on your unifi AP? Are you using a cloud key? If not how is your controller hosted? Which unifi controller version? Some older firmware versions had issues with connectivity and required turning off some features in the controller. Better to be fully up to date as most of those connectivity issues are resolved.
Controller version? Update it to latest. I would also suggest leaving it running for logging purposes. Also make sure you have UAPSD disabled in the controller for this ssid. Your AC lite firmware is up to date.
You have a Gen 2 access point (current unifi APs are Gen 6). It’s quite mature by now, but also limited when trying to connect to a 6e radio. Have you tried changing Intel driver settings to force handshake as AC? I assume you’re using 5Ghz? Do you have same results when connecting 2.4Ghz?
