I was very sure there was threads for this already, but my search-fu is clearly weak today as I can’t find any of them.
With InTune Autopilot deployments, user assignment (a function essential when prepping devices for existing operational users that doesn’t necessitate trying to use Entra’s flawed TAC system, or having to do PW/MFA resets).
The user assignment doesn’t work.
Evidence 1: A 13" AMD unit.
As you can see, it’s registered in the tenancy, and has a user assigned:
But yet, with a clean Windows 11 Enterprise (prekeyed) 24H2 build:
No dice.
Evidence 2: A 13th Gen Intel unit:
Same symptoms.
And to forestall any obvious aspects - yes, both units have the latest BIOS, and I’ve tried deleting and re-registering the units from afresh and the tenancy is otherwise synced and fully operational - I have zero assignment issues with Surface, Dell or HP units.
