LG recently announced a new laptop display panel that can change its refresh rate between 120 Hz and 1 Hz. Tests on a Dell laptop with the new display show a huge gain in battery life. It would be really great if Framework could offer such a display as an upgrade to a Laptop 13. I don’t know if LG has announced a 13” version of the display yet, the Dell uses a 14” version.

Seconded, the claim of “huge gain” in battery life seems exaggerated.
Liquid crystal consumes very little electricity, the majority of the power draw is from the backlight.
A lower framerate reduces GPU load however the GPU load is already very low unless you are playing a video game so further reducing it is a diminishing return. I don’t think most users can tolerate up to 1 second to wait for a folder to open
