2nd Gen Input Cover Reviews

I’m not sure anyone out there is reviewing the input covers separately but I was curious about the quality, key travel etc.

Does anyone know of any reviews out there that may exist. Happy to read industry or personal takes.

I’m not able to compare it to the Gen 1 input covers, as I got my FW13 last week. I can only comment on the Gen 2 cover I have.

My personal opinion is that the Gen 2 is very good. Key travel and typing are very comfortable, and response time is top-notch. It’s not a noisy keyboard; there is a little bit of sound when typing, but not much. They have added something to the new AMD Ryzen AI 300 motherboard to stop the keyboard flexing in the middle (a common complaint I found with earlier FW13). The back lighting works very well, and overall build quality is good. The new fingerprint reader works every time.

I personally like the fact that you don’t have to have a dedicated Windows key, although I know that there is a version of the Gen 2 with it.

Overall impression? Very, very good.

Hope that helps.

I bought a second gen one because my first gen one was periodically dropping key inputs. The main thing I’ve noticed is that audio from the speakers is less rattly with the second gen input cover. Even though I use Windows, I chose the one with the framework key to avoid getting a stupid copilot key.
