I am wondering if there’s any plan to for framework to work with existing PC manufacturer? Like ASUS, Gigabyte, etc. I can see that Framework laptop will be something similar to the standard of mainboard like mini-itx which PC manufacturer will be able to provide parts for framework laptop.
If so I guess it’s quite conflict of interest for framework to do so, however I can see that framework can also collect small fees for 3rd party to do so. What are the stances for framework team on this?
It is more conflict of interest for the manufacturers at the moment. Notebooks are, unlike desktops, a highly competetive market (more degradation and more progress) and they are better off now producing complete machines.
