Wonder if this will fit / could be made to work:

So, good news and bad news; I’ve found an USB application, the bad news is, it’s pretty expensive (~350-450) and I’m not exactly sure about it’s dimensions.

Apal 5G dongle (2500Mbit down/660Mbit up)

That does indeed look like a pretty good option. If one were to break out the innards and 3D print an enclosure to turn it into a Framework expansion card, that would be an awesome little 5G package.

Found the manual here. The dimensions are 87.5 x 38.9 x 21 mm (though could be significantly smaller when broken out of the factory packaging).

Was anyone able to source the Apal 5G dongle?

I am seeing some TRI CASCADE VOS 5G arapter for $200 in walmart. Here is their web site: https://www.tricascadeinc.com/

Product sheet

P.S. Looks like it is T-Mobile US locked (not sure, but they mention T-Mobile SIM card needed), but I happened to be their customer and have a proper sim at hand. Ordered one for experiments!

P.P.S. Dimentions are exactly same as for Apal 5G module - looks like hardware wise this Vos 5G is exactly the same as Apal 5G.

5G on a laptop? Killer feature. It would grant FTTC performance on the go… A man can dream.
…it’s so expensive tho… The final card would be around 250€ if the module alone goes for 200…
