My 61Wh 13 battery inflated like a balloon, and I only noticed when the keyboard panel was pushed up so that the lower seam opened. Interestingly, the laptop ran and charged just fine, and I didn’t even notice a fall in battery life. I replaced it with a 55Wh battery because that’s what’s available, but I’m curious if anyone else has suffered from this issue? I supposed that the lack of 61 availability is related to this issue, but that’s just a guess.
This has a bit to do with the chemistry involved in the higher density power in the same package size. As the battery was more susceptible to this failure mode, Framework implemented a battery minder (See life extender) into the BIOS/UEFI.
I’d reach out to support, if the battery is within the return period, otherwise make sure that you’re taking action to keep that battery happy/healthy.

Framework tried to point me to the giant thread on this issue before I posted, and I ignored it. Mods, feel free to delete this.
You have the ability to delete your own posts lol
also, just FYI, the warranty on those batteries was extended if you didn’t know so you may be able to get a warranty replacement
