Any load you can do that will use the most peak watts.
Here are two separate test CSV files. The laptop went to sleep when I was away for a short bit in the first one, but it should have all the necessary data for a laptop 16 in performance mode. I had the power slider in LACT set to 120W in the first CSV. The second test has it set to 100W, same settings otherwise. Both in chargecontrol idle
Wow!
That peaked out, PSU + Battery together, at 369.70 Watts !!!
Itās a hungry beast! Will you need some from RO as well? Sorry if I seemed lost earlier, I was running around doing volunteer work while the laptop tested
So with those measurements, maybe this measurement I got from the dGPU a while ago wasnāt actually an insane miscalculation? Is there going to be a New Gpu? - #92 by Obasav
I would have to agree. I was playing āDeadzone: Rogueā and without an FPS cap I was hitting 160-180 in bursts.
Iām about to generate another csv, with some more crazy power draw for you to look through. I set macro pad/keyboard/monitor brightness at max, speakers full blast, 120W GPU in LACT, and computer recording a video with the camera/mic. All in performance mode, with all core undervolt of -30. While playing Palworld
Here is the new test I ran: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HiifrijTzalae1eea6weFn5fDoabIZoW/view?usp=drive_link
This test consisted of these, all at the same time:
- Performance mode, connected to 240W charger. Battery started at about 79-80%
- Fans at max speed
- LACT iGPU was set to max clock speed
- LACT dGPU was set to 120W
- All core undervolt of -30
- Palworld
- Cinebench R23 single core
- Speedtest running in the background
- Tidal music playing at full volume
- Video recording from laptop camera/mic
- Display, Keyboard, and Macropad at max brightness
Wifi was not working, so I was using ethernet for the network stuff.
Here are the CSV files from LACT:
Short duration: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1U03Q0XLlGneJ65d306psgTsnIFXZpih_/view?usp=sharing
Long duration (Recorded after short duration, to get more data): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zqTBFpfnoc54ZDqajiRAeZFUcHz0vXa0/view?usp=sharing
That pushed it a bit further for a FW16.
adp_watts: 307.57
battery_watts: 185.5
total watts: 493.07 !!!
Absolutely insane. I saw at some points the dGPU alone pulled almost 180W.
Oh, and I ended the test at 65% battery left
How do your dump tables compare to mine on the 240W? I noticed mine are different under an all core workload
Idle performance mode: Framework 16 7940HS Idle table (-30 CO) - Pastebin.com
All core cinebench performance mode: F16 Ryzen 9 7940HS Dump Table (-30 CO) - Pastebin.com
I have a Baseus 140W, the Delta 240W and the original Framework 180W.
Iām on Windows, but I can try to provide data if needed.
Canāt wait for the new BIOS, this firmware situation sucks.
So whoās gonna buy and test the new Ugreen charger?
I guess I should upgrade my travel chargerā¦
Thatās a crazy device
Iām super skeptical to āAutomatically reduces power when tilted, providing an extra layer of smart protection.ā A charger has no moving part shouldnāt behave like this, and it doesnāt seem to be grounded
It doesnāt have, seemingly, any fans, and no vents at all⦠Absent those i donāt understand why it would need any tilt sensorsā¦
There definitly are devices, which cooling is calculated for a certain position. Seems weird to do that for a consumer device though.
//Edit: It weighs >2kg. Not a travel charger
//Edit2: It has a grounded plug according to these pictures
Iām not seeing any new 500w charger for sale, and your links are just going to the main ugreen charger page.
EDIT: must be for Germany only.
Not just Germany, but I could only find EU sellers - but than Iām also only familiar with EU sellers, so might not know the good sites. For US I can definitly imagine reasons why theyād hold off selling it there.
Can confirm, in NL works. 200 euro tho is something I have to think over first
