Hey, I’m struggling to find a way to get rid of the feedback and echo during virtual meetings. My system is running windows 11 pro and my webcam is logitech c920x hd pro cam. I know people usually just use headphones to solve this problem but when your parents pay $1k for you to have virtual doctor appointments, they deserve to hear what your doctor is saying too.
Things I’ve tried/looked into
-
zoom and google meet have built in echo cancellation, which seems to work for about an hour, then I’m assuming it runs out of cache or memory because the feedback is unbearable until I leave and then come back. This might work for meetings with friends, but is bad for doc appointments and docs often use a platform without noise/echo cancellation
-
windows settings to turn on voice clarity, voice focus, or change enhancements settings. None of these settings show up in any menu I can find. My webcam is already using generic windows drivers as far as I can tell and I’m guessing since my webcam is external, windows studio effects has decided my problems are not its problems. I have tried turning down my speaker and mic input, but it doesn’t eliminate the problem.
-
realtek audio console, as far as I can tell won’t help because my webcam is connected via usb not 3.5mm jack
-
amd noise suppression setting. When I look in adrenalin it said noise suppression was an “unsupported feature.” I can’t tell if this is because
a) it is unsupported for the radeon 8060s card
b) it’s a bug in the more recent versions of adrenalin
c) the feature has a conflict with realtek
- I was using a jabra conference mic/speaker that I leave plugged in at all times, that’s supposed to remove noise/echo, but for some reason it seems to have a habit of just quitting and refusing to work at important moments, like during $1k virtual doctor appointments. As far as I can tell, it’s been like that since we got it. I thought it was because it was using bluetooth, so as far as I can tell I turned the bluetooth connection off so it would rely on the usb wired connection. But it still gave up mid meeting.
any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
