Audio Jack Not / Possibly Never Working. Speakers and Bluetooth working fine

My framework laptop audio jack simply doesn’t work. I have never tried to plug anything into it since I bought it in 2021. Does anyone know what could be wrong with it? The speakers and Bluetooth work fine. It is only the audio jack that does nothing.

Is there a history of the OG audio jacks never working? I have swapped motherboards since I originally purchased the laptop, but I have triple checked the audio board connections.

I am using Windows 10 with the AMD 7040 cpu (Framework Laptop 13)

Super annoying because it might’ve been broken this entire time, but now I’m 3 years out of warranty because I never thought to test the audio jack.

I would greatly appreciate any ideas / requests for any additional info that might be helpful!

Windows 10 isn’t supported on that model, so you may be missing the right driver. Although if the internal speakers work, that’s probably not the problem. But maybe the driver works in general and just the automatic output switching doesn’t work.

You could try booting from a Linux live iso so see if it works there.

I didn’t do anything, and it was suddenly working today. It has never worked before, no idea what happened. Best of luck if anyone figures it out! I will update if it breaks again.
