Backlit Keyboard Options for US FW13

Good morning:

Are there only two backlit USA keyboard models for the FW 13 (Intel Core if it matters)? The ANSI and the ISO clear models? Are there any Dell style black keyboards where only the characters light up?

I bought the ANSI clear for my previous FW16 and it’s fine. Except I had to place an additional order for clear keyboard stickers ($39 for one set) to help keep me from getting off to on side or the other if I wasn’t paying attention (Mavis Beacon only helped me so much in High School). Those stickers are great as well, albeit expensive IMO. They also didn’t sell the character

They are backlight, even the “standard” keyboards

Isn’t that just the default?

Thank you. I was only seeing the all clear, all black, or black keys with white character keyboard models. I NOW see the backlit black keys model:

***EDIT: I slipped here. This is the FW16 RGB US backlit keyboard. I don’t see a FW13 all black key with RGB backlit feature… yet. AM I still missing it?

Yeah that’s for the 16, the black with white characters keyboard for the 13 is backlit, there are no non backlit keyboards for framework laptops that I am aware of.

Adrian_Joachim:

Aww, thank you. That wasn’t clear (and I don’t mean the clear keyboard options :stuck_out_tongue: ).

**EDIT: Here is the FW13 backlit black US English keyboard Adrian_Joachim is referring to: Framework | Framework Keyboard

There is also the backlight symbol and cable on the picture:

Also this is a forum not a formal email, you don’t need that bit in every post

And the community.frame.work/guidelines do ask that members not sign their posts. Though there are certainly worse things.

Okay, understood about signatures. I’m old school that way. (and I’m also a guy, as such, I don’t always read ‘all’ the instructions. )

Thanx,
… never mind

The FW13 keyboards all have backlighting. Only white though; there is no RGB option. If you get the clear keys (available in ANSI and ISO) the entire key lights up, otherwise you just get the lighting coming through the white letters, the black part is opaque. Fn+spacebar cycles the backlight through the three levels and off. It’s handy if you use your laptop in a dark room.

The FW16 keyboards are backlit in the same way. There is an optional RGB keyboard for that model; it’s available only in clear (ANSI only at this time) and US English. There is also an optional RGB macropad that can be installed instead of a numeric pad; the numpad has a white backlight like the keyboards.
