Battery life on F13 AMD Ryzen 300 AI chips

AMD was promising “multi-day” battery for their new set of Ryzen 300 AI chips on this year’s CES.

Do we have any information how this plays out on the updated Framework 13 using Linux?
It’s a major factor for me before I (pre)order.

Oh interesting you just posted this right after I posted here Feb 25 New AMD CPUs - Power Efficiency and Battery Life

Actually looking at this I’m also confused as it specifically mentions AI 7 - but I’m curious how the AI 9 compares, and also would definitely be curious about linux performance specifically as well.

I am going to hold off. I feel like there are going to be a lot of issues out of the gates, plus I don’t have £999 to spare at the moment (that’s the board I would get for mine.)

I’m looking forward to seeing what the numbers are like, too. But I’m still rocking the 1st generation i5-1135G7, so I’m sure that no matter what I upgrade to, it’ll be better than the 4-5 hours I get out of it currently.

it might be better due to generational improvement, but multi-day isn’t a realistic use-case. I would expect 5-10% improvement over the ryzen 7x40 series

Multi-day if you only use it for a couple hours every day maybe.

I’m hoping for 9 hours of video playback, or maybe 8 hours of programming small personal projects mixed with web browsing. If I can get through an 8 hour workday without a charger, that’ll be great.

maybe, but then the 7x40 series is already multi day
