Battery plastic solves discharging problem

Hi all,

Thought I’d drop this news article from Canadian researchers that found changing the plastic used to wrap the wires in the battery essential solved the self draining issue when devices aren’t drawing any power:

If buy a new battery for this, anyone else ?

I wouldn’t. Not that I doubt the research but no numbers were given as to how serious the discharge is. I would want new batteries to implement a fix but my current battery works fine as is. I seriously doubt the improvement is anything above 5% AT MOST. More likely around 1%.

Yeah the main battery aint the problem for me. That’s fine.

But any improvements in battery tech going forward are welcome.
