I am running windows 11 on my 13 with an AMD 7040.
I thought I had the battery saver set to 80% until today!
I had a power cut and so I was running on my battery for an hour and I increased the efficiency settings to eke things out until the power came back.
When I put the settings back to normal and plugged in my power, it charged right up to 100%, despite the fact it is set at 80% in the BIOS.
I normally leave it on charge all the time, as I charge it with the docking port which holds loads of other stuff which I use all the time and this has been running fine up till now.
I believe there are a few reports of the battery charging limiter in the BIOS not working as intended in a few scenarios. Others have reported this happening to them.
One solution would be to disable this new feature in the BIOS and just limit the charging level to 80% all the time. There is likely a firmware update in the future that will address this.
That solution would work, but I depend on having my docking port connected at all times, which also charges, as I’d lose most of my devices by unplugging it. I’m going to try reinstalling windows to see if that helps…
