I setup my Framework desktop (max+ 395 64gb) with the latest bazzite-stable-amd64.iso last night.
I did a “ujust update”, and everything was working fine. But today, when I tried to load things up, after entering my disk encryption password I got a warning which read “Warning: /dev/disk/by-uuid/***********… does not exist”
I saw a post which suggested trying to load into the ostree1, rather than ostree0. But I got the same warning.
I had a look in the BIOS, and there are two entries for my SSD in the boot manager section. Surely there should only be one? I tried booting from the other entry, but got the same result.
Sorry, I am not sure which kernel I am running, but my BIOS version is LFSP0.03.02.
I had a look at the output from journalctl, and the thing that seemed to trip the system up was to do with the passphrase. I’m pretty confident I put it in correctly, maybe not though.
Did a fresh install, and so far everything seems to be working fine.
How did you do a fresh install? I’m new to Linux and experiencing the same issue. I can’t find anything online on how to wipe the disk or reset so I can do a fresh install of Bazzite either
You can do a fresh installation by booting your system from a Live USB. The installer will walk you through wiping your drive.
That being said, if you previously had a working installation and now it’s not working, personally I would want to do more troubleshooting to determine the issue rather than just wiping the entire OS.
I might be a little late with this but you can follow our instructions for this in our Bazzite installation guide for Framework Desktop to do exactly this. All of our Linux install guides are geared around the assumption of you wiping the entire disk and doing a fresh install as part of the process.
