So i just wanted to ask if there is any bios setting doing this?
Since every time i power my framework 16 up i get black screen with backlight on for maybe 15 seconds before it turns off and turns back on and then Framework logo appears.
Can i some how make it boot faster than this? since other laptops i have once i power them on i get logo instantly and then i get loading animation of OS under logo.
Update: After googling a bit, could it be due to memory training it does? like when it post it does something with memory and the larger it is the longer the screen remains black before it shows framework logo.
I have 64GB DDR5 5600MHz and it’s same no matter what i do
i already got quick boot on it seems. yet it takes around 15 seconds with black screen.
The thing is it takes some time to boot, but it’s hela of a darn fast on shutting down from linux. Like i press power off in linux and within less than 5 seconds it is powered off.
Installing windows 11 gives laptop a instant logo on screen and then loading much quicker. But once it’s linux it’s black screen for almost 15 seconds before logo popsup and then boots into linux hmm.
I wonder if it’s due to zorin os 18 pro? If i install ubuntu 25.10 maybe issue goes away on that.
Update: Okay so after putting the linux drive back in the framework logo came up instantly but after booting in and picking reboot it went back to black screen for like 15 seconds.
So i’m starting to think it maybe could be due to the encryption option like if you enable encryption it will take longer for laptop to process anything so it gets black screen, then logo and then password box.
I’m gona try without encryption and see if it does the same thing. If not, then that was the cultprint and to fix that linux need to support TPM use on AMD which apparently does not atm. Even ubuntu 25.10 cannot detect any TPM modules in installer for some weird reason.
