Slow Bios Post

Since I received my Framework 16, I’ve had this issue where the time it takes for the framework logo to appear is roughly 1-2 minutes. The whole time the power button is just blinking. I expect this to happen if I remove a module, but other times this happens after it’s been sitting idle on my desk for days. Mind you, on some days it takes less than 5 seconds to boot into the OS, but it’s less often than not.

I’ve upgraded the BIOS and the OS(Windows), but it’s still happening. I’ve looked around the forum and haven’t found any discussions regarding this topic.

Has this happened to anyone else? If so, how did you fix it?

Have you tried reseating the RAM sticks or swapping their positions?

I haven’t. Before I go try that, have you experienced this before and how often does it happen and when? Trying to understand if it’s a problem where only my PC is being affected or if it’s a known issue.

I personally haven’t experienced this issue however, I have previously assisted a few community members with a slow BIOS post which is resolved after swapping the position of the RAM sticks.

So far, it seems like swapping the positions of the ram worked. Has booted much faster. Thanks!

The problem is still present. Sometimes it takes less than 30 seconds to POST and other times it’s around 3 minutes. Is that normal? I’ve recorded the whole 3 minutes of wait time. I might open up a ticket with customer support.

This isn’t normal. At this point, I’d recommend opening a support ticket and linking this thread for them to reference.
