When my camera’s hardware is set to disable the camera, if I launch zoom, a popup for a crash report appears. I can dismiss it, but then attempting to join a meeting brings up the same popup. Simply switching the camera back on causes zoom to work fine. Why does this happen, and is there anything I can do to fix it? Not all my meetings require video, so leaving it off would be much more convenient.
I don’t have any idea if this is the fault of the machine or zoom itself.
Edit: OS is Windows 10
This is interesting. I can join Zoom calls with my camera and microphone switches in the off position, and I can even toggle them in the middle of a meeting (though toggling the camera does require the Alt+V shortcut to toggle video within Zoom). If my camera is active in a Zoom meeting, and then I flip the switch, my image stays frozen on what it last saw. Perhaps something needs to be set in your Zoom settings?
What operating system? I can try to replicate if you’re on Linux.
Standard Question #1
Are you using the Framework drivers, most current version.
