There is a tutorial on using the forum somewhere.
I believe there was a welcome email with a link to the tutorial.
To quote a post, highlight the section to quote. Then a button comes up ask whether to reply with quote.

I’m a new user so apologies for the late reply. I posted in this other thread about how to access the tutorial here. Hopefully that helps future readers/new users who stubble across this post with similar questions. The basic and advanced tutorials are interactive and to be honest very helpful in explaining the functionality of the forum such as posting replies, links etc,.
