Laptop 16, AMD 7040 Series, AMD Radeon™ RX 7700S
Right fan completely unable to spin, left fan degrading. No replacement fans buy-able and full GPU module replacement is not within my budget.
Unable to find my original expansion shell so I can’t try to plunder it for the fans.

It would also appear the Expansion Bay Shell fans wouldn’t work as they are a different size at 75mm x 8.2mm (instead of 75mm x 11.5mm for the graphics card).
I was going to ask how to take out the fans but that is just great. Can’t even use the fans I have. Any DIY fix my fans with bearing damage? My mom said it might be that.
Not sure but question: how old is your laptop/graphics module? If it’s still covered by warranty they might replace the module for you.
Have you logged a support ticket with Framework about it?
you could pillage the fans out of a different laptop, it looks like the hp pavilion uses the same fan size and you could just buy some generic 75x11.5 laptop fans and put them in, they may not be as good but should work
I have the same problem; the left graphics module fans have been unavailable for months. So much for repairability.
Similar problem here, the right fan has began making an infernal whirring noise a few days ago. I’ve been subjected to roughly 8 hours of it today and feel nauseous. The component is clean, just broken. First generation, RX 7700S. No replacements available.
The fw16 gpu fans are available (in stock) in the FW shop.
Or at least they are from the UK.
Are the 2nd gen ones compatible with 1st gen graphics modules? Looking at the UK shop and it seems only 2nd gen is in stock. If they are compatible that would be wonderful, the usage of the phrase “redesigned shape” made me think otherwise.
