So I finally got my own Framework 16 for Christmas last year, and I’m looking ahead when I can swap out the mainboard. Ideally I’d like to repurpose this 7840 board for a steam machine build, but the problem seems to me that there just isn’t any cooling options to replace the bullhorn heatsink the board uses in the laptop.
At this point I’ve resigned myself to likely having to custom fab a cooler, which is likely to be an expensive case of trial and error, even if I start with dummy wood mocks. Am I the first person to come across this problem? Has no one else thought to make a less obtrusive cooler for the FW16 mainboard?
