EDIT:
my laptop was delivered after all but i did have to call and online chat support fedex and fortunately they deliver today.
I bought the framework 16 of the amd ai 300 series and amd radeon 7700s graphics module.
After i paid the remaining money due (after the 100 euros deposit) and getting my shipment confirmation and tracking link, whoever in charge decided the best way to ship a nearly 4.000 euros laptop from taiwan to the netherlands is to first go to the philippines?, china (to pick up the extension cards i imagine), india??, france then proceed to take 3 days to get the package from france (post clearance, which also took a day) to the netherlands, which is like a 6 hour car ride.
And the cherry on top is that i was told this: Delivery exception - Customer not available or business closed. this is whilst 2 extension cards did get delivered no problem, that i decided to buy after i got the laptop tracking link.
Why the heck is it so hard to ship a package??? has anyone else also had such a terrible experience getting their laptop and/or pc shipped (after paying top money)?
I received a FW16 7840HS from FW a while ago, and it was delivered to the UK.
It took a similar route that yours has.
I just wish my laptop had taken a photo camera with it, and taken pictures of all the lovely places it has been.
I did notice that with each stop, the laptop was slightly closer to the UK each time.
My guess is it is some optimization algorithm that FedEx use. Minimizing fuel and Minimizing the amount of flights it has to do in total.
For example, Say a flight from A->B has free space, it can take an extra package. If that makes the extra package slightly closer to its finial destination, it is cost effective to carry it in the free space.
So, although your package might do more flights, taking all flights and all packages into consideration, its is more cost effective.
I see i kind of thought of that but this combined with the 3 days they took (6h car ride) to send it from france to the netherlands + the laptop not being delivered made me snap and make this thread
I believe they always take this route and they obviously don’t add the expansion cards on the way.
I assume they go Taiwan→Phillipines→China because China and Taiwan are in a conflict and don’t tant to trade with each other directly. China→India→France is just the direct route towards Europe. They always go via France because they do the imports there.
Delivery has always been super fast for me, even from Taiwan. I don’t see anything terrible in your post, either. Are you just mad that you weren’t at home when it was delivered?
A similar thing happened to me.
I had an app on my phone that told me the location of the delivery driver.
They got to about 100Meters from my house, but could not find the house, so turned around and went back to base. If the FedEx driver had just picked up the phone and called me, it would have been delivered.
I think FedEx need to update their House address to Lat/Long database, so it is more accurate.
Seems to me that if you are angry at anybody you be angry at the carrier rather than Framework. Framework doesn’t control the routing of packages and it doesn’t actually matter either as long as the delivery commitment is met.
