Drivers for windows 10 for AMD AI 300 series chipsets

  • Framework 13
  • Windows 10 Pro
  • AMD AI 300 Series

Hi guys!

Just got my framework and I tried Windows 11 and then Windows 10 (after replacing the wifi card). With Windows 10 I am consistently getting 8+ hours of battery life. But of course it has trouble sleeping because one of the drivers is for the ACPI.

Because, there are some drivers I cannot seem to locate online.

Anyone here can help point me in the right direction?

(Yes, I know update support is ending, but I will stick with the LTSB branch to keep updates until 2032 at least. I will be trying linux alongside to see if I can switch over for most things)

The missing drivers:
PCI Device (PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_1116&SUBSYS_000BF111&REV_00)
Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller (PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_1121&SUBSYS_000BF111&REV_00)
Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller (PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_1120&SUBSYS_000BF111&REV_00)
Unknown Device (ACPI\VEN_AMDI&DEV_0107)

If they are AMD specific drivers for a new portion of the latest main board you have Windows 10 drivers may not exist.

Windows 11 can actually be streamlined with less bloat and background tasks. Search online for some Debloat tools and it will significantly drop the amount of background things Windows 11 does. One thing that Windows 10 will never do as well is the thread scheduler if I remember reading correctly a while back. The newest processors and chip sets really benefit from the much more advanced code to move threads around much more efficiently.

Alternatively, you could boot into Linux and create a Virtual Machine for Windows 10. Just a few thoughts.

If you have not tried one of the Linux flavors in a long time they really have come a long way and are quite efficient of an operating system. The Ubuntu Live USB is a great way to try it out just to get a feel for it. Congrats on your new AMD Framework machine.
