Expansion Card Slot functionality higher power consumption

Hy! Glad to be part of the Framework community.

I have an 13 DIY Ultra 7 155 Frame.work.
Windows 11 Pro 24H2

Recently I experienced some issues related to USB A card expansion. Sort of temporary to permanent USB A freeze.
I’ve searched extensively the knowledge base and I’ve realized I have to switch off the USB power save function.
Eventually I’ve found a schematic of the expansion card functionality for the 13 AMD version.

What means “Higher power consumption?” It means it should be used for higher … or it means it should be avoided …? or what?
Thanks.

If you are using Intel Core Ultra, the 4 expansion card slots are identical(and have identical power consumption)

For the AMD version it means that using that expansion card in that slot will result in a higher idle power consumption (and less battery life) of the laptop. And should thus be avoided.

But that doesn’t apply to your Intel model.
