Expansion cards not working

Hi all,

My expansion cards have started acting up – the USB-C seems to work to charge my laptop in any slot, but the USB-A cards are now both only working in the top right slot, and the HDMI card has stopped working in any slot. I’ve tried the fix suggested here but had no joy at all.

Beyond a hardware issue, does anyone have any thoughts? And if it is a hardware issue, where might I start? I’m not the most tech literate, so apologies if I’ve overlooked something obvious. Thanks very much.

I recommend trying a mainboard reset. The instructions are here: Fully Resetting the Mainboard State - Framework Guides. Be careful while removing the CMOS battery as I’ve heard people damage the holder while doing so.
