I have to admit in hindsight I should have waited for the Framework 16 but in my defense that didn’t exist even as an idea when I bought my 13 (which I love (even love that I can now upgrade to PRO)) .
Had this thought when I saw a couple of Lenovo laptops

I understand they probably have patents so that might be an issue but it would be great to go to a bigger screen when needed while still portable. And I get you can just plug in an external display or even wireless share to a screen now but it being all in one would be ideal.
I definitely could get a different laptop brand and model but I don’t want to leave Framework ecosystem. I like the fact that it’s infinitely repairable and upgradable.
On a similar tack. What if instead of foldable expandable display, one make the whole of the keyboard, touchpad and surrounding area a hi res display.
What might it be useful for?
It would still have keyboard and touchpad function, but also be able to display stuff.
it could be a keyboard that works for ever country layout.
beside the touchpad, one could show notifications.
I cannot see great value in those, but i still think the space taken up by the keyboard and touchpad is mostly wasted space, that could maybe be used for other purposes as well.
I personally dislike touchscreen controls in general especially for typing or even game controls and much prefer a physical mouse keyboard controller setup. But I can see how the space where the keyboard and touchpad could be a screen and I know there are products out there like that and Asus makes one variant.
My ask is same format as now just make the screen resizable.
