FedEx completely ruined my Framework delivery experience and wasted two full days

I’m beyond frustrated right now.

I live in Belgium and I ordered a Framework Desktop that was shipped via FedEx. On Monday (Nov 10) morning, FedEx told me that my package would be delivered the same day. So I stayed home the entire day and even took a work-from-home day just to receive it. No one showed up.

Tuesday (Nov 11) was a holiday, fine. But today (Wednesday), I called again and was told that the delivery would happen between 10 AM and 12 PM. I waited until 1:30 PM and nothing arrived. I stepped out for only 15 minutes, and somehow during that short time they marked it as a failed delivery attempt.

The absurd part is that my main door was open, and they could have easily left the package safely. Now FedEx wants me to travel 35 km to the nearest FedEx station to pick it up myself. That is completely unreasonable.

FedEx has already wasted two entire days of my time and now expects me to fix their mistake by collecting the package myself.

Framework, I really like your products, but if FedEx is the only available shipping option, that is a major deterrent. No customer should have to go through this much trouble to receive something they already paid for.

If they do not attempt to deliver it today, I’m honestly considering a chargeback.

FedEx are just unprofessional.

Hi,

When I received my FW16, I was in all day. I saw their van pin on their delivery app.
They got to about 100 Meters from my house, and then marked it as “a failed delivery attempt”.

My guess is they could not find my house, but they made no attempt to call me for directions. I don’t know why they could not find it. Amazon drivers find it every day.

So, my guess is that they never actually reached your house.

The issue is with FedEx, not Framework. Taking the issue up with FedEx is going to have much more traction. We get it, most of the deliver carries are not what they used to be; this is a common work issue worldwide.

Returning product is one thing, filing a chargeback with a credit card company is wasting time and resources that could be spent on actual cases not “I am not happy with the delivery company”

Have packages delivered to a work address or somewhere they can be picked up.

The two times I’ve ordered from Framework, FedEx does a spider web pattern between plenty of countries before making it to me, making what is usually a few day transit take a week.

However, FedEx is rated awfully here, they never attempt deliveries, and so on. Usually they never show up, however sometimes they show up just to drive off before leaving their vehicles, or just to put the we missed you card in the mailbox before driving off; never attempting the delivery.

I wish Framework had a DHL Express option.

I wouldn’t say they ruined mine but they surely got me worried.

Package marked as delivered on their tracking but nothing received. Called the support and opened a ticket→No reply for a few hours until the delivery man just ringed the doorbell and left the package on my stairs without even making me sign…

Tbh, considering how little times you’re gonna order something, this isn’t an issue. I’m happy to wait a few more days if it means to pollute less as long as the delivery time is nothing crazy.

I should have received my Framework the 5th of January but even with all those extra steps in the delivery, i got it before NYE.

Edit: I’m a bit more frustrated to not be able to choose a locker/shop as a delivery address. A greener choice and at least you know the delivery guy knows where he’s going and he’s not going to make a mistake on the address.

I had to go all the way to the FedEx station to pick up my package because I was completely fed up with their delivery attempts. Since I don’t own a car, I had to take an Uber, which ended up costing me around 100 euros.

I know shipping is free, but I honestly wouldn’t mind paying a shipping fee if it meant being able to choose a carrier that is more reliable in my area like DHL.

Oh boy not good news. Seeing as I am from Belgium too and waiting for my tracking. Let’s hope it’s not FEDEX

Also from the EU and it is Fedex.
But I feel like the whole experience thing would vary not just from country to country, but even from one town to another. The Fedex driver who works in my area is actually really great, haven’t had a bad experience with him so far and I’ve received several expensive things through Fedex at this point, including another mini-PC.
However it’s entirely possible that whoever services some town two hours away from me would do the same as OP described :man_shrugging:
