Does anyone know if paying in installments is an option that is being considered (for the UK) at all?
We need PayPal payments!
Is it really wise to finance consumer electronics?
It’s not wise to finance ANYTHING to be honest.
It can be, although it’s decidedly niche. If for instance you could pay for the entire purchase upfront and instead utilize 0%APR financing such as PayPal’s 6 month financing and instead invest the purchase price in a 6month CD or stocks or HYSA or whatever then you would be able to have the device now while growing your wealth at the same time. Or you could use the purchase price of a FW laptop to qualify for a good CC sign up bonus which could be the equivalent of hundreds of dollars.
So long as the financing is at a low APR and you don’t get hit with a high APR then it’s pretty harmless assuming that your overall DTI is reasonable. But those are things most people don’t consider when using Affirm/PayPal/Klarna/AfterPay etc. So ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I am agreed with him, i do wish 2 or 3 credit cards to pay using PayPal. They will losing more clients or users.
