I can confirm, that I have the same problem on my FW 13 AMD 7040 running Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon.
After resuming from sleep sometimes I get asked for fingeprints and sometimes not. My observation is that after it failed once there is no fingerprint prompt after sleep until next reboot.
