Fingerprint reader working, but Windows won't let me login with it

Howdy all. I recently upgraded from a FW13 with Intel i7 11th gen to one with the new AMD motherboard (AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX370).

After having to solve some RAM issues, I installed Windows 11 and the driver pack.

For some reason, when I boot into Windows, the option to login with the fingerprint reader is unavailable.

I have to use my PIN to login. Not a huge deal, but I’m used to fingerprint login on my old FW13 with the Intel motherboard.

Here’s a screen cap showing the option to set up “another” fingerprint (suggesting that the first one stored just fine) and no driver errors in Control Panel: Screencap

Has this happened to anyone else? Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Hi, If you have updated finger print driver, then you may need to remove and register finger print one more time. it was related to enabling Windows Hello Enhanced Sign-in Security (ESS).

Well, this stinks. I deleted the fingerprint reader from Settings. Then I tried to reset it. When I tried to register my fingerprint again, it gave me this image…

I’ve found some YouTube instruction how to fix it. I have not tested it, so do it on your own risk. link to the video is from Microsoft forum That Fingerprint is too similar to one that's already set up. - Microsoft Q&A
