Framework 13 AMD refuses to boot or go to bios

Hello I recently purchased a framework 13 AMD DIY and brought my own ram (32gb) and SSD. I was able to install windows and download some of my programs, after doing so I installed some drivers and bios updates. My computer decided to restart/shut down and it has been unable to go to the bios or windows since. I am using windows 11.
I have tried:

Reseating the ram/ssd
Resetting the main board
Booting without battery
Booting and letting it sit (the fans spin up and get loud and hot but there is no display)
I have used external monitors and keyboards too

As for the post code I am getting it is Gx12 O B Gx7

Any insight into this issue would be great since I am running out of ideas for what to try. Thanks!

What make, model of ram do you have?

The most likely fix is you need a new main board. Ask FW support.

For ram I have Kingston Fury DDR5 5600MT/s CL40 2x16gb.

Where did you get the instructions to reset the mainboard? If you used the info from the guides, the mainboard wasn’t resetted as the AMD Framework doesn’t have a CMOS battery.

I used this to try to reset the bios hoping it was something the bios was stuck on. Reset forgotten BIOS password - #17 by sgilderd

Have you tried booting without the SSD and with 1 stick of RAM in Slot 0?

My theory here is the BIOS update failed so that the laptop now has no bios and the flash code is coming from the EC.
In this case FW have not published a recovery procedure and have just replaced the user’s mainboard.
FW support are away for Xmas, so there might be a bit of a wait before you hear from them.
But as mentioned in the comment above, try booting with one ram chip and remove the ssd.

I think I’ve tried that? I’ve tried each slot independently, as well as no ssd. The fact that I can’t even get to the bios has me thinking it could just not have one?

The RAM has to work before it can reach the BIOS.
If it cannot reach the BIOS, you get the LED blink patterns.
You reported:
Gx12 O B Gx7
The Gx12 basically means it either thinks it OK, or that is just the default state it starts out at before the BIOS sets any to red. I don’t know either way.
So, trying to get the RAM to work is the first step to get the BIOS screen to appear.
Did the problem start directly after the BIOS update attempt?

Sorry should have added context as to the start of the problem, I was able to do the bios update successfully but the issue started after the driver update. Somewhere in that update it decided to reboot and now refuses to go to bios or boot. I’m assuming my ram is okay since it did initially boot with it installed.

At this point, I think it’s best if you contact support. The diagnostic code is something that Support can help you with.

Already sent out an email for that, just thought I would parallel it here to see if there were any other suggestions. Thank you all for the assistance especially during the holidays. And I’ll update this thread if anything magically works or what the end solution is.
