Framework 13 expansion slots not working, not charging either

I have a framework 13 laptop with Ryzen AI 300 series CPU running windows 11, with the latest bios I could find from the downloads lage. I just got it about 3 weeks ago, and I’m currently overseas and using it to upload data from my GoPro to my NAS via the microsd expansion card.

It has been working fine for the past few days, including this afternoon. However, when I came home in the evening to try to upload new footage, the microsd card was not recognised. At first I thought that it was an expansion card issue, but then I realised that even though my laptop charger is plugged in and windows indicates that it is charging, the battery % is going down and at that point I was at around 8% battery.

I looked online and found that it’s likely an issue with the EC and had to disconnect the battery via bios to fix it. This did work and I could charge and use my microsd card, but then I found that only one of my 2 usb C expansion cards were accepting charging. I tried to swap them around to troubleshoot but then the issue of the expansion cards not working turned up again.

I tried to put the expansion cards back to where they originally were and reset the EC but this time it didn’t work, and my laptop ran out of battery. Once it ran out of battery, I pressed the power button and it flashed white a few times, and the screen powered on and attempted to do an automatic diagnosis. Before it could do so, it shut off for good.

I’m trying to charge it with my laptop charger for a while now and it’s not working, is there any way to try remedy it without taking it apart? I’m overseas right now and don’t have access to my tools.

It sounds like a hardware fault to me. They should be able to help.
