Framework 13 Standalone Ryzen - Display Output Just Stopped Working

Hello all! I’m new to this forum and am looking for some help. All advice is appreciated! Let me know if you need more details or if I should clarify anything.

I purchased a Framework 13 standalone board a while back (since December 2025). I have a Ryzen™ 7 7840U mainboard.

Back in December, I got the display output to work, and it was working today. Previously I installed Fedora 43 workstation and wanted to try getting Fedora 44 KDE. While GRUB and the gnome login manager worked on my old OS, the BIOS didn’t seem to recognize the USB I had with the ISO. I don’t think I changed any settings in the BIOS (only saved and exited), but now now my mainboard is not connecting to my display.

I have tried both a standard TV via an HDMI module, as well as my Sony INZONE monitor with USB-C to display port. All my ports are currently USB-C. I would be happy to post a picture, but when I see the cooler master case upside down (the fans are to my right):

Top left port: USB stick with Fedora 44 ISO.

Top right port: a usb-c to DisplayPort cable. (This is with the Sony INZONE monitor.)

Bottom left port: power cable (generic 65W Chromebook charger. I did work earlier today when I saw gnome appear successfully).

Bottom right port: keyboard.

I followed a power reset guide: I disconnected everything (including the RTC battery), held SW1 for 30 seconds, then waited 15 minutes, and then plugged back everything in again. Finally, I pressed SW1 once, but after 10 minutes, nothing happened.

Any suggestions on what I should try next?

Since the issue started after entering the BIOS, first try a full CMOS/RTC reset again, then boot with only power, one display, and a keyboard connected. Test a different USB-C port and display cable if possible, and confirm your 65W charger is providing enough power. If there’s still no video output—not even the BIOS screen—it may indicate a firmware or hardware issue rather than Fedora itself.

Thanks! After another power reset, I am testing now without the flash disk, but I still don’t get output into my display. I’m not sure if it’s this specific display (Sony INZONE M9)? I have had problems with it and a separate PC in the past.

Framework Support has asked for the POST sequence, so I’m trying to record that now. During startup, they say it should show up after 1-2 minutes. However, I’m having trouble getting it to show reliably, even with a power reset. I might try my TV monitor again to see if that works.

I’ll keep updates here, but unfortunately no display output or POST flashes. Framework support told me to do a full power drain. I might have been doing this wrong before: I previously just disconnected the IO extensions and RTC battery before pressing SW1, waiting for 10-15 minutes, and then reconnecting everything back. This time, I also disconnected my two sticks of RAM, SSD, and WiFi chip.

Even with the power drain, I didn’t see any display output. I did see that when I reconnected the RTC battery (after trying without it), the fan would occasionally spin.

For now I’ll keep following support, though I’m still puzzled why it’s not showing anything.

Alright, my ticket got escalated, and it looks like I’m getting a replacement from Framework support. Marking this as solved, though not sure what happened in the original mainboard.
