Framework 16 AMD Ryzen AI Max 300 series - Driver bundle doesn’t recognise model

Following the Windows OS guide, the driver bundle runs and does nothing.

Checking the temp file that the framerwork installer writes it shows this:

Summary
Failed to find PlatformFamily
  Is Framework: true
  Platform: Unknown
BIOS Information
  Vendor: INSYDE Corp.
  Version: 03.04
  Release Date: 11/06/2025
System Information
  Version: Some(MassProduction) (A7)
  Manufacturer: Framework
Product Name: Laptop 16 (AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series)
  Wake-Up-Type: PowerSwitch
  SKU Number: FRAGAGCP07
  Serial Number:-Obscured from miscreants-
  Family: Laptop 16
BaseBoard Information
  Version: Some(MassProduction) (A7)
  Manufacturer: Framework
  Product: FRANMHCP07
  Serial Number:-Obscured from miscreants-
System Chassis Information
  Type: Notebook

The installer immediately exits.

Extracting the exe to a folder (with 7zip) and running the batch file manually shows the same result.

It looks a bit like this should be looking for FRANMHCP instead of FRANMFCP (or my platform is that but unrecognised)

There is also a missing greater-than symbol here (I’ve added), which would mean append to the log rather than overwrite the timestamp written on the line above.

I’m going to alter the script to match my system and run it anyway.

based on paths in attached screen shot you have downloaded driver package for Desktop not FW 16 AMD AI Framework Laptop 16 BIOS and Driver Releases (AMD Ryzen™ AI 300 Series)

Oh FFS how did I manage that, been carefully picking the 16laptop links but must have messed up.

You’d have thought I’d spot desktop in the file name…

Thanks for the solve!
